ThunderCats Vs. Assurant Allstars 5/13/10

Happy day! The Cats are back in the Zone! We played the Allstars again and won...again. Though we started off slowly we slaughtered them in the end. The final score was 16 to 3 Cats! We are back in the number 4 spot for our league. It took us a couple innings to get warmed up. We were all struggling at the plate and our fielding wasn't as clean as it could've been, but we turned things around. Though we were missing Becky (thanks for subbing Carey) Brandon was back with us and we were so glad to have him!

A lot of great things happened this game. Lacey was our catcher and she made a great play behind the plate by catching a pop up foul in her bare hand! Billy, our pitcher, also made a great play at home by decking a runner in the face just before he touched the plate. The hit wasn't intentional, but the runner was very unhappy about it all the same, especially since he thought he had just hit a homerun. Speaking of homeruns, Ryan had one this game! It didn't quite clear the fence but it hit the fence. It was far enough out there that he was able to make it all the way home.

Once we got used to the Allstars' pitcher, who pitched extremely low, we were able to hit much better and the runs just kept racking up. It was a nice win, especially since we were all still a little upset because of last week's loss. Go Cats!

The Birds of Doom needed some girls to sub for them, so Lacey and I obliged them even though they are next week's competition. They were playing the Sons of Pitches, so we had conflicting feelings about how we wanted the game to go. We wanted to beat the Sons of Pitches since they unjustly won against us last week, but at the same time we didn't want the Birds to win because they beat us once also and we play them next week. They put me at third and Lacey at catcher. The Birds ended up winning 12 to 4. It was fun to play with them, but hopefully we will be able to beat them next week.

ThunderCats Vs. Sons Of Pitches 5/6/10

This was a sad game. As Ryan so aptly put it, "those Sons of Pitches didn't win, we just lost". We could've easily beaten this team, but for some reason we just fell apart. It wasn't any one person's fault. Our loss was a team effort. The final score was 7 to 11 Sons of Pitches". It was not a good night for the cats.
